The Valley of the Issoire. This little river runs through a beautiful valley of trees and dappled light. The river can change from slow and lazy to wild and fast flowing over the huge granite boulders strewn in its path along the way. Great walk at all times of the year.

Oradour sur Glane. This village was captured by the Germans towards the end of the 2nd world war and the inhabitants massacred. The village has been left as was when the Germans marched out as a testament to mans inhumanity to man and a monument to those who so needlessly died. (Not for the faint hearted).

Angouleme. This city is without doubt a hidden gem. The eating out experience is amazing with its myriad of restaurants. The views and walks from the old ramparts..the huge fortifications surrounding the old city. The live music in the charming old bars...I could go on and on about Angouleme..my favourite City!
